    GSCAO aims to coordinate efforts between range states in aspects related to Arabian oryx conservation such as breeding and reintroduction programmes.
  2. Where is the office of the General Secretariat for the Conservation of the Arabian oryx located?
    Since its establishment in 2001, the GSCAO has been hosted by the Environment Agency- Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  3. What are the main accomplishments of the General Secretariat for the Conservation of the Arabian oryx (GSCAO)?
    The SGCAO has so far accomplished the following activities:
    - Organizing meetings with member states to discuss various issues related to Arabian oryx conservation in the region
    - Preparing and publishing a regional strategy for the conservation of the Arabian oryx
    - Organizing a regional workshop held in Al Ain (UAE) in 2011 on veterinary management of the Arabian oryx in range states
    - Preparing and publishing a regional disease survey of Arabian oryx in the range states.

    Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and Yemen.
